How To Improve Your English Grade Without Extra Credit
  1. A lot of my former classmates say that English is the subject they struggle the most with aside from math. English has always been a subject I thrived in and ( and not to toot my own horn) but for the past semester, I’ve been carrying a 100 as my final grade. No, I’m not a professional but I definitely think that I have some helpful tips to help you raise your grade without breaking your back with extra credit assignments. NOTE: This can work with any subject!

  1. Make an effort to read more
Ever since I started middle school I haven’t had any friends. It’s kind of sad but it really is true.
Because of this, I turned to books to get through three years of hell. I started reading all of the
book series that I had always wanted to read but never had the “time”. The Hunger Games Trilogy
is an all-time favorite that I highly recommend you try out if you haven’t already. The Harry Potter series
is by far my most favorite book series. So why read books? Well, I really started to notice a difference in
my vocabulary, it really impresses your teacher/ professor if you bust out some advanced vocabulary on t
hat essay. Even if you’re not a big reader I still think that you should try to read a set amount of pages in
a book of your choice. One last thing to mention is that the books your reading doesn’t have to be
textbooks, it can be whatever you want to read.

  1. Try to have a good teacher-student relationship
This may have been obvious to you but it’s a key factor in your grades thriving. It also applies to any
class your taking/ struggling in. Now some teachers are impossible to get along with but trust me, working
their sweet spot will pay off more than you could ever imagine. What I mean by this is make sure to give
them your full attention even if you find the material really boring. <ost students will give in and stare off
into space but if you fight the urge and tell yourself that what they ere teaching is very interesting you’ll
get noticed by your teacher and they will greatly appreciate you being alert during their class. Another
thing that teachers really like is respect, like lots of it. Again this may be obvious but just following their
instructions and using manners will definitely have you on their favorites list. Now don’t go and be a brown
nose and make it very obvious that you’re trying to get them to be on your side but just be genuinely kind to them.

  1. Be yourself in your work
One thing that really helps me but a little pazazz or special touch on my essays is letting my personality peek through
the words. For example, if you have a very sarcastic personality feel free to let a few sarcastic sayings slide in your essay.
Don’t feel like you have to sound like a bland robot, instead, try spicing up your next essay and see how things go. Remember
writing is supposed to be a written version of a painting, so don’t try and make your essay sound exactly like someone else’s but
your own masterpiece.

  1. Listen to there advice
If your teacher gives you the opportunity to let him/ her check your work and they give you some advice, take it! They know what
they are doing and want to see you succeed so if they give you some feedback tweek your work and use the tips that your teacher
gives you.

  1. Make sure that you always do your best!!
