                           Spring Cleaning Checklist

↤  Everything You Need To Clean ↦

It's that time of year! Spring! Now is the perfect time to get all those dreadful cleaning jobs off your hands.

Everyone is stuck in the house with this virus in town so it's not a bad idea to disinfect your home. Listen, call me crazy or paranoid but I don't want to be a new home for a nasty virus. Just saying. So why not kill two birds with one stone. Spring clean and stay safe!

So here is a checklist of tasks that will have your house sparkling. After all, wouldn't you rather be stuck in a clean and fresh house than a cluttered disaster?

*NOTE* This goes for all spaces in your home, before deep cleaning. You want to get your house "bare". What I mean by this is get caught up on everyday tasks that you've fallen behind on. Such as laundry and dishes. That way if you get caught up with something else you won't have cups all over the floor and a sink full of dishes.

For Bedrooms:

  • Wash sheets and comforters
  • Dust. Make sure to get any vents or places that tend to accumulate lots of dust.
  • Disinfect. Especially now this step is very important. Be sure to get remotes and doorknobs (really anything that you touch on a daily basis) try this DIY Disinfecting Spray in case you couldn't get your hands on any Clorox. Thank me later.
  • Clean any windows
  • Clean walls. This may sound a bit weird and a difficult task but that's only if you do it the hard way. Just grab your everyday mop, fill a bucket with hot water ( I add in some Mr. Clean because it makes the room smell amazing and it helps get all that gunk off your walls.) Then take the mop, dip it in the water, wring really well and literally mop the wall as you would the floor. Then when you're done you can use that water to mop your floors ;)

Bathrooms:
  • Clean out your drains
  • Clean bathtub/ shower and sink
  • Vacuum any bath mats ( throw them in the washer if you can)
  • Wipe down any cabinets
  • Scrub base and bowl of the toilet
  • Dust vents
  • Clean walls
  • Disinfect ( Remember, get anything that is touched daily. Toilet seat, doorknobs, and lever to the toilet)
Kitchen:

  • Deep clean stove/ oven
  • Take everything out of cabinets, wipe them out with disinfectant and put everything back in ( I try to reorganize while I'm doing this)
  • Sweep/ vacuum behind washer and dryer
  • Clean out microwave

Living Room
  • Deep clean couch. Depending on the type of couch you have the technique you need to use to clean it may vary. I have a microfiber couch so all I do is remove the microfiber cover and pop them into the washer and let them air dry, but if you have a leather couch, that's a different story. Just google how to clean your specific couch type and follow those instructions. If you have removable cushions vacuum under them to get all those chips and who knows what else out of your couch.
  • Dust
  • Disinfect
  • Sweep and mop under any rugs ( if you have hard floors)
  • Wash walls

This DIY natural disinfectant does just as good as Clorox does and the ingredients aren't cleared off the shelves. ( Win-win am I right)  What you will need.  Vinegar  Water Dish liquid Instructions:  Pour equal parts vinegar and dish liquid in a spray bottle. Then fill the rest of the bottle with warm water. How I Save Hundreds Of Dollars On Household Products Each Year  I'm not going to make you read 10 paragraphs of nonsense before I actually tell you how I save big but there are a few things to add. This is not extreme couponing This is for people who have a full schedule and don't have the time to be a full-time couponer (because it IS a full-time job) but still want to save on household essentials. Last year I saved about $600 on laundry detergent, dryer sheets fabric softener, dish liquid, toilet paper, paper towels, air fresheners hair care, and pretty much anything you need.  Here is how I do it. Dollar General/ Family Dollar weekly deals. Let me explain. These stores offer coupons to people who sign up. It's completely free. You can add these coupons easily and apply them when you're in the store. You can use these coupons on anything but if you add the right ones you can save some pretty big bucks. Is it as extreme as couponing? No. I generally save...
